The superiority of shieldon fabrics over other radiation screening fabrics is due to the environmentally friendly metal material contained within the shieldon fibers; the low percentage of this metal material; the easiness with which the fabrics are processed, and the fabrics\' pleasant texture.
Supplementary means of radiation protection that have been provided thus far involve use of fibers made of 100% copper / nickel, creating very expensive fabrics which are difficult to process and are with an unpleasant texture. Those fabrics are not environmentally friendly.
